Informe de gener d’AEMET, i errors en les mesures a l’estació de la nostra provincia
Posted by: damagum in Resums meteorològicsJa fa uns dies que AEMET (Agència Espanyola de METeorologia) va publicar un informe amb les característiques del passat gener, on també afegiren una menció al comportament del trimestre novembre-gener. A continuació copie la publicació d’AEMET, i després comentaré alguns aspectes.
Enero, húmedo y próximo a frío
06/02/2009 El mes de enero ha sido húmedo para el conjunto peninsular y balear. En cuanto a temperatura, ha tenido carácter normal, próximo a frío, para el conjunto de España peninsular.
Temperatura
El mes de enero ha tenido carácter normal, próximo a frío, para el conjunto de España peninsular. El comportamiento ha sido muy variado; predominó el carácter frío, con numerosas áreas que llegaron a muy frío en el litoral sur peninsular, sur de Galicia y puntos del interior. El carácter normal ha sido el segundo en frecuencia de ocurrencia con pequeñas áreas que legaron a alcanzar el valor de cálido: Alicante, Ourense, Sevilla, etc.
En ambos archipiélagos dominó el carácter frío.
Los días más fríos relativamente se presentaron entre el 6 y el 13, extendidos a gran parte de la Península. Entre el 7 el 9 se registraron valores próximos a extremados en los dos tercios occidentales de la Península y en Baleares. En Canarias los días más fríos se representaron en la segunda quincena.
EC = Extremadamente Cálido: Las temperaturas sobrepasan el valor máximo registrado en el periodo de referencia 1971 – 2000.
MC = Muy cálido: f < 20%. Las temperaturas registradas se encuentran en el intervalo correspondiente al 20% de los años más cálidos.
C = Cálido: 20% =< f < 40%.
N = Normal: 40% =< 60%. Las temperaturas registradas se sitúan alrededor de la mediana.
F = Frío: 60% =< f < 80%.
MF = Muy Frío: f >= 80%.
EF = Extremadamente frío: Las temperaturas no alcanzan el valor mínimo registrado en el periodo de referencia 1971 – 2000

Precipitación
El mes de enero ha sido húmedo para el conjunto peninsular y balear. En el Archipiélago de Canarias los registros totales dan carácter normal al mes.
Hay grandes áreas peninsulares con carácter normal, próximo a húmedo; del mismo orden de extensión son las áreas de carácter muy húmedo aunque siempre lejos de valores extremados; estuvieron distribuidas más irregularmente: en el Cantábrico Oriental, zonas del Noroeste, La Mancha Oriental, Teruel y puntualmente en la cuenca del Duero.
En Málaga fue un mes seco.
Los días de mayores aportaciones fueron en la última decena para gran parte de la Vertiente Atlántica, y en la primera decena en el área mediterránea y zona Centro.

Periodo trimestral Noviembre 2008 / Enero 2009
La temperatura media del conjunto España Peninsular y Baleares (EP & B) ha tenido carácter de muy frío. Con un valor inferior a 7.6 ºC, es el noveno año más frío desde 1961, y el más frío desde 1999 para el conjunto considerado.
Fue extremadamente frío en Ibiza, o el más frío desde 1956.
Desde 1972 también ha sido el periodo más frío en Murcia (S. Javier), Granada, Huelva y Navacerrada.
En Canarias fue frío.
Las precipitaciones en EP & B tuvieron carácter normal aunque con grandes variaciones de comportamiento. Del carácter muy húmedo en el Cantábrico Central y Oriental, y en Baleares, siendo extremadamente húmedo en áreas de Mallorca, se llega al carácter muy seco en zonas del Sudoeste Peninsular.
En Bilbao este periodo ha sido el periodo de mayores precipitaciones desde 1971 sobre otros similares.
En Canarias también fue normal el registro total del periodo, con algunas islas occidentales que alcanzaron el valor relativo de húmedo.
Com podem veure, gener ha estat, a la península, de caràcter fred i humit. En Castelló podem comprovar com ens assignen un caràcter normal en quant a temperatura, i humit en quant a precipitació (a la meua estació vaig registrar 40.2 mm aquest gener).
En quant al trimestre novembre-gener, l’informe deixa clar el que tots hem notat, i es que ha tingut un caràcter molt fred. És important el fet de que es tracte del novè període més fred des del 1961, o el més fred des del 1999. S’han batut records des de 1956 a Eivissa, o altres des de 1972 a Granada, Murcia, Huelva o Navacerrada.
Però hi ha una cosa que em deixa mosca, i es que Castelló en quasi tots els resums d’AEMET apareix més càlid que la resta. Açò m’ha fet buscar informació sobre l’estació oficial d’AEMET per a Castelló, i he trobat algo interessant. Us explique.
En primer lloc, us explicaré que les dades de l’estació oficial d’AEMET computen per al càlcul de la temperatura global realitzat pel GISS. És a dir, té una important repercussió. Bé, primer mirem el gràfic del GISS, que recull les dades que AEMET ofereix:
En primer lloc us adonareu que el nom de l’estació és Castellón-Almazora. L’estació es troba enclavada en el polígon industrial del Millars, a Almassora.
Us conte també una mica d’història de l¡estació. La primera instal·lació de l’estació d’AEMET, en aquell temps INM (Instituto Nacional de Meteorología), es va fer a una torre situada al centre de la ciutat de Castelló. Va donar dades des d’aquesta situació fins que el 1975, es canvia d’ubicació a la que ocupa actualment, és a dir, al polígon industrial del Millars. Es por comprovar a la gràfica com hi ha un salt cap a baix sobre l’any 1975, ja que les condicions son més fredes al camp que a la ciutat, per l’efecte illa de calor de les ciutats. Resulta que quan es va fer el canvi, el polígon industrial no existia, l’estació estava rodejada de tarongers. Però poc a poc s’ha anat rodejant de naus i industries, asfalt, materials artificials, tots ells afecte a la temperatura, ja que irradien calor. El creixement del polígon s’accelerà a meitat dels anys 80, fins l’actualitat.
Resumint, que l’estació ha estat en dues ubicacions, però podriem dir que en 3, ja que les característiques de la nova ubicació a Almassora als anys 70 son ben diferents a les d’avui en dia. Per això no és d’estranyar que al comparar les dades actuals amb la mitjana de unes mesures realitzades en unes altres condicions, els resultats siguen més càlids del que realment són. I aquestes dades recordem que conten per al càlcul de la temperatura global, per a que veiem la rigurositat de les institucions que proclamen l’arribada del canvi climàtic.
Per si fòra poc, crec que l’instal·lació d’Almassora, apart de les industries, asfalt i demés factors que la rodegen, crec que no és del tot correcta. Us pose unes imatges de la ubicació d’aquesta:
La garita que conte els aparells de mesura es allò blanc que es troba al mig del jardí en la part posterior de l’edifici. En la meva opinió el jardí és escàs, a més de que la garita és molt pròxima a l’asfalt posterior així com al de l’accés a l’edifici. A més, la situació al NW de l’edifici pot fer que aquest faça de barrera davant les brises habituals, augmentant les màximes, ja que les brises aquí solen venir del SE.
Però el més important es que l’entorn ha canviat molt, tant com per a que les mesures no puguen comparar-se o que de fer-se, condueixen a un error. Imagineu l’edifici però rodejat de tarongers, les mesures eren molt diferents. I és que més important que la presició de les mesures, es quasi que totes s’hagen realitzat d’igual manera, per a que les comparacions siguen vàlides.
Aquesta, més que el escalfament global, és una de les raons per les quals en els resums d’AEMET la nostra zona apareix sempre pintada amb colors més càlids. I sols es tracta de un cas, el que jo conec per proximitat, però em temo que aquests casos son abundants. Als EUA s’han investigat gran part de les estacions i més de la meitat de elles estan en condicions inadequades per a la mesura.
En fi, que açò del escalfament té molta tela.
